Receiving Coordinator Evenings/Weekends
Job Description
The Coop is seeking a motivated, service-oriented member to join our Evening/Weekend Receiving Coordinator team. This hands-on role combines member-worker coordination, inventory management, member service, and operational problem-solving to support the Coop during our busiest hours.
The successful candidate is organized, adaptable, and enjoys working with people in a fast-paced environment. They take pride in maintaining a well-stocked and welcoming shopping floor.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the Coop is well stocked for the membership
- Generating work for members and delegating priorities based on shopping floor and operational needs
- Training member workers to stock, rotate perishable products and complete projects
- Providing service to members by locating products and answering questions
- Communicating with colleagues and working members about priorities
- Developing a working knowledge of the Coop’s full product selection
- Leading weekly case cleaning or deep cleaning with members
- Responding to physical plant and refrigeration issues
- Receiving and putting away deliveries, ensuring proper rotation
Hours: 38 hours per week, including mandatory Saturday and Sunday shifts. Typical hours are 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM or 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM, though schedules may vary based on operational needs.

The ideal candidate will:
- Enjoy working with diverse people and crowds
- Exhibit flexibility and emotional tenacity
- Be an excellent team player with strong communication skills
- Be dedicated to the Coop’s unique member-owner model
- Be computer-literate (Macs preferred)
- Be prepared to work during holidays, the Coop’s busiest times.
- Have grocery or retail store experience
 Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 poundsÂ
- Reach, crouch, bend, stand, climb stairs, and work for hours in walk-in coolers and freezers
- Be on your feet for most of the work day
- Work with and around common allergens, including nuts and dust
- Work in noisy, hectic surroundings in close quarters with others
- Candidates must be current members of the Park Slope Food Coop for at least six months immediately prior to application
Wages:Â
$35.93/hourÂ
