Position Overview

Rudolf Steiner School seeks a full-time professional, organized, and personable Receptionist and Administrative Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for our Lower School building. This position combines front desk responsibilities with administrative support duties, requiring excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Salary - 40,000 – 50,000/year (including benefits)

Key Responsibilities

Reception and Front Desk Duties:

• Greet and welcome students, parents, and guests in a professional and friendly manner
• Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls to appropriate staff members
• Manage the reception area, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and presentable
• Sign for and distribute packages, mail, and deliveries
• Maintain visitor logs and issue visitor badges as needed


Administrative Support:

• Provide administrative support to administrative staff members as needed
• Coordinate substitute teacher coverage for the Lower School
• Maintain attendance records for Lower School students
• Assist with data entry, database management, and record keeping
• Process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence
• Handle other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned


Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a receptionist or administrative support role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-line phone systems and office equipment
• Familiarity with scheduling software and database management systems
• Bilingual skills are a plus
• Experience in a similar industry or organizational environment
