Nonprofit Recruiter / Talent Acquisition Specialist


Role Overview


As a Recruiter, you will play a vital role in advancing our mission by identifying, attracting, and hiring top-tier talent. You will serve as the bridge between purpose-driven professionals and our core programs, managing the entire recruitment lifecycle from sourcing to offer. The ideal candidate is an excellent relationship builder who ensures all candidates are evaluated on both core competencies and a deep alignment with our organizational values.


Key Responsibilities


  • Candidate Sourcing & Outreach
  • Develop and execute strategic recruiting plans and targeted outreach campaigns to build robust talent pools.
  • Leverage job boards, social media, and professional networks to attract passive and active mission-aligned candidates. Hiring Manager Partnership
  • Collaborate closely with department heads and program managers to define job specifications and understand unique team needs.
  • Facilitate strategy sessions to set hiring timelines, structure interviews, and minimize bias during the selection process.
  • Candidate Experience & Selection
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process: screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, and guiding candidates through the hiring funnel.
  • Ensure a fair, equitable, and positive experience for every applicant.
  • Employer Branding
  • Enhance the organization’s employer brand by highlighting our mission, workplace culture, and social impact.
  • Represent organization at career fairs, networking events, and community forums.

Requirements

Qualifications


  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, plus [e.g., 2-4] years of full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • Sector Knowledge: Prior experience or a proven passion for the nonprofit sector and mission-driven work.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) like Paylocity, and standard HR metrics.
  • Experience working with Homeless Shelters, Health Clinics recruitment is an A+
