The Pulmonary Function Manager is a licensed and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). This individual is proficient in performing all pulmonary function tests and should be familiar with Methacholine challenges and cardiopulmonary exercise testing. Responsibilities include: laboratory quality control assurance (i.e., equipment maintenance, calibration and collection of biologic control data, drafting and monitoring adherence to laboratory policies and procedures); supervising, educating and evaluating staff; overseeing research studies; functioning as liaison between Pulmonary Division and other divisions/departments; working with the Medical Director to expand testing capabilities; participating in education of fellows and rotating house staff/students. Possesses advanced computer skills and versatility with Excel and graphics necessary for the evaluation of laboratory and staff performance.
