Position Overview

Our school nurses play a vital role in providing nursing services to students with documented needs, conducting case finding through exams and observations, and scheduling students for physician evaluations. They also offer ongoing case management for students with acute and chronic health problems, ensuring that they receive the necessary care and services. In addition, school nurses educate students about health-related topics, implement healthy options and physical activity programs, and support children and families in developing healthy lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing nursing services to students with documented needs
• Conducting case finding through exams and observations
• Scheduling students for physician evaluations
• Offer ongoing case management for students with acute and chronic health problems, ensuring that they receive the necessary care and services
• Educate students about health-related topics, implement healthy options and physical activity programs
• Support children and families in developing healthy lifestyles

Requirements

• NYS RN License and Registration
• Resume
• RN Diploma or Certificate
• Social Security Card 
• Government Photo ID
• 2 Professional Reference Letters
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate by American Heart Association
• Updated Physical with Titers for: ○ Measles ○ Mumps and Rubella ○ HepB ○ Varicella ○ Flu Vaccination
• Covid Vaccination Card
• Voided check (for direct deposit)
