Job Description:

This is a full-time, seasonal role running from September/October through late December/early January, depending on business needs. This role is not eligible for benefits.

YOU WILL BE: 

As the Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests at the Bergdorf Goodman Restaurant and play a key role in setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. This position requires a polished, welcoming presence and the ability to manage reservations, guest flow, and seating with grace and efficiency in a luxury dining environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Greet all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival, reflecting the Bergdorf Goodman brand and service standards

• Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating to ensure optimal dining flow

• Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff regarding table status and guest needs

• Maintain an organized and elegant host stand and entrance area

• Accommodate special guest requests whenever possible with discretion and professionalism

• Monitor dining room activity to ensure guest comfort and service efficiency

• Answer phone calls, manage inquiries, and provide accurate wait-time information

• Support opening and closing duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL BRING: 

• Previous hostess or front-of-house experience preferred; luxury or fine dining experience a plus

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to remain calm and poised in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency with reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable) preferred

• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak retail hours

SALARY AND OTHER BENEFITS:

The hourly rate for this position is $24/hr. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include market, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Compensation for this role varies by geographic location. The listed range reflects multiple markets, including higher-cost areas. Actual starting pay will be determined based on work location, experience, and other job-related factors.
