Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Entry Authorization in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Access Control Officer supporting a utilities location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and contractors while supporting a welcoming, security-related environment. Pay Rate: $18.30 - $19.30 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, authorizations, and visitor documentation before permitting entry to restricted areas.
• Maintain accurate access control logs, issue and recover visitor badges or access devices, and report access-related discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to identify unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Have customer service experience preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
