We're looking for a Senior Design Technologist to join the Creative X Design Tech team at Amazon Ads. You'll sit at the intersection of design, engineering, and creative systems, leading the architecture, strategy, and development of infrastructure, tools, and intelligent systems that accelerate how creative teams work, collaborate, and ship across surfaces including Amazon Store, Alexa, and Prime Video.

This is a role for someone who thrives in high ambiguity, loves systems thinking, and has a track record of building platforms and tools that others rely on. You'll operate across a range of complex challenges, from design-to-production scaffolding, to intelligent agent systems that connect teams and surface insights, to refining GenAI-powered creative workflows that meet high quality bars. The common thread: you own the technical vision for the connective tissue that makes our creative ecosystem faster, smarter, and more reliable.

The CrX Design Tech team is being built with a clear charter and scope. You'll shape what Design Technology means in this organization, define the team's technical architecture, and influence UX and technology strategy across multiple teams.

Key job responsibilities
- Architect and own systems that allow anyone to prototype within production constraints
- Build and lead development of agent-based systems, coordinating parallel workstreams
- Partner with science to refine GenAI creative workflows, influencing implementation decisions and setting quality standards
- Develop large prototypes (full products, major features); lead a team to execute
- Prototype rapidly, ship production-ready code, and write software that is easy for others to contribute to
- Mentor junior Design Technologists and contribute to DT assessments and hiring bar-raising
- Drive process improvements, creating tools and services that increase team output
- Impact customer experience for an entire product or major feature set, often on strategic initiatives

Who You'll Work With:
- UX Designers
- Engineering teams
- Applied Scientists
- Product Management
- UX Researchers
- Design system teams
- Leadership (providing data-driven insights and automated visibility)
- Cross-functional teams (influencing features and technology owned by other teams) Basic Qualifications: - 8+ years of front-end technologist, engineer, or UX prototyper experience
- Experience as a front-end developer creating prototypes or wire-frames for enterprise web applications or workflows
- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar
- Track record of delivering inventive prototypes and leading technical direction across teams Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of Python, Javascript, and source control (Git)
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems, or experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience building web applications with React and modern web technologies
- Proficiency in engineering best practices (rendering, performance, client compatibility)
- Demonstrated ability to own a team's prototyping architecture and make trade-offs balancing short-term needs against long-term business goals
- Ability to bridge design and engineering, translating fluently between both worlds
- Track record of innovative, intuitive design solutions for complex, ambiguous challenges
- Experience splitting and coordinating parallel development work across contributors
- Ability to proactively identify UX opportunities and guide future UX choices
