About Fluidstack
We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.
We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.
We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!
About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end data center electrical design to join our team. This role covers the full power delivery chain — from MV distribution, to different LV distribution topologies all the way to rack-level.
You’ll provide technical oversight of end-to-end electrical designs for large-scale data centers, ensuring design quality, code compliance, and alignment with Fluidstack's technical standards across all levels of the power distribution chain. You’ll contribute to the development of internal design standards, specifications, and best practices for data center electrical systems.
This role is critical to maintaining design quality and consistency across a rapidly scaling portfolio of projects as we drive toward our 10GW deployment target.
Basic Qualifications
8+ years of experience in data centers electrical design or other mission-critical facilities, with exposure to the full power distribution chain from utility feed through rack-level delivery.
Prior experience at a hyperscale operator (AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft) or major mission-critical design firm designing for hyperscale environments.
Solid understanding of major data center electrical topologies (2N, N+1, catcher bus, distributed-redundant) and the ability to articulate the trade-offs between them.
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards including NEC (NFPA 70), TIA-942, NFPA 110, IEEE 446, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584.
Nice To Haves
Experience with high-density compute environments (AI/ML, HPC) and the unique electrical demands of GPU-heavy workloads is a plus.
Familiarity with EPMS/BMS integration, liquid cooling electrical distribution, and ASHRAE TC 9.9 thermal guidelines is a plus.
Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred, or ability to obtain within 18 months.
Proficiency with tools such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and/or Bluebeam Revu.
Benefits
Competitive total compensation package (cash + equity).
Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms.
Health, dental, and vision insurance.
Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.
The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $270,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. This range represents our good faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Total compensation may also include equity in the form of stock options.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
