About Us

Altro powers the next generation of wellness businesses with clinical infrastructure built for growth.

We're building a platform that enables wellness businesses to offer clinical services they currently can't provide on their own, including blood testing, prescriptions, and peptides, supervised by a clinical team. Think Shopify for wellness businesses.

The team behind Altro has done this before: Harvard Business School MBAs and a second-time founder, alongside operators and executives who've taken startups through exits as founding-team members. We're backed by top venture capital firms.

The tailwinds are massive: Peptides going mainstream, GLP-1s unlocking the category, the longevity movement in full swing, and AI unlocking what wasn't possible a year ago.

We're still early. Which means every hire matters. Join at the ground floor, work directly with the founders, and be part of something rare: a company at the intersection of a massive market shift and the moment when AI is reshaping what small teams can build.

The Role

We're hiring a senior full-stack engineer to build Altro's platform alongside our CTO and founders. This is a full-stack role with a front-end lean. You'll spend most of your time crafting the consumer and partner-facing interfaces that operators and their clients touch every day, while still owning the backend work needed to ship features end-to-end.

You'll work directly with our CTO — an experienced healthtech engineer who's built and scaled products through multiple acquisitions and mentors engineers in a top AI Masters program. He'll be your manager, your code reviewer, and your mentor.

What You'll Do
  • Build the interfaces customers see and touch. Consumer, partner-facing, and clinician-facing portals — polished, fast, intuitive. UX matters here.
  • Own features end-to-end. From fuzzy problem ("operators want X") to shipped product (the page, the API, the migration, the analytics) — all of it.
  • Work full-stack, with most of your day in the front end and the rest in the backend services that power what you're building.
  • Partner closely with our designer to ship polished UI. You care about the difference between "it works" and "it feels great to use."
  • Leverage AI tooling throughout the SDLC — write, review, and deploy with AI where it helps. Speed matters. So does quality.
  • Work across a small cross-functional team — clinical ops, product, design, sales. No throwing things over the wall.
  • Engineer for simplicity. Bias toward minimal dependencies, boring technology where it matters, and architecture that scales without ceremony.
How We Work
  • Ship often. We deploy daily, instrument what matters, and fix forward.
  • Boring foundations, exciting features. Proven technology for the core so we can experiment freely at the edges.
  • Customers first. Every decision starts with the operator, clinician, or consumer using what we build.
  • Real ownership. You touch the whole stack and see the impact of your work in the business, fast.
  • Low ego. We hire people who care about the work, not the optics.
Who You Are
  • 4-7 years writing production software. Quality and ownership matter more than years.
  • Deep TypeScript + React/Next.js fluency. You've shipped complex, polished interfaces and think about component architecture, state management, performance, and accessibility.
  • Strong design sensibility. You can take a Figma file and ship something that feels exactly right — and push back when something could be better.
  • A modern typed backend language in production. You're not a front-end specialist; you can build the API your front-end consumes.
  • API design experience (GraphQL, REST), schemas, contracts, versioning.
  • Comfortable with a cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and infrastructure configuration.
  • A track record of owning features end-to-end, not just pieces.
  • Clear writing and strong async communication — critical for a small team moving fast.
  • High agency. You spot what needs to be built, scope it, build it, ship it. You don't wait for a perfect spec.
Nice to Have
  • GraphQL at real scale (schema design, performance, tooling)
  • Animation libraries (Framer Motion, GSAP) or advanced CSS/Tailwind work
  • Design system experience — building or maintaining one
  • Comfort with tracing, metrics, and structured logs
Why This Role

This is a founding-team-caliber seat at a seed-stage company with real momentum and one of the strongest tailwinds in healthtech. You'll work directly with a CTO who's built and scaled healthtech products through multiple acquisitions, founders with deep operating experience, and a team small enough that your decisions matter. You'll own real product surface — not slivers.

If you want a front-row seat to building a company from the very early phases, this is that seat.
