Position Title: Senior Project Manager

Salary:     $165,485.00 - $165,500.00 per year

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm


Summary of Duties:  


Manage the engineering deliverables to develop utility scale solar and energy projects, equipment procurement RFPs and EPC contractor RFPs. Manage strategic partnerships , contractual negotiations with engineering firms, equipment suppliers and EPC contractors. Managing project schedules and budget of engineering work products such as site layouts, engineering drawings, one-line diagrams, PSSE/PSCAD Models, etc. Conduct quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) of engineering work products. Expertise in queue positioning, cluster studies, and deliverability upgrades for large-scale projects (PJM, MISO, WECC). Manage interconnection applications across the portfolio, including interconnection studies, agreement processes, and milestone management. Produce planning level site layouts using AUTOCAD and Plant Predict. Organize the internal engineering team’s work load and manage task prioritization using a task tracker tool. Negotiate master supply agreements (MSAs) for high-voltage components like High Voltage Generation Step Up transformers (GSUs), breakers, and collector systems, with long lead-time mitigation. Manage the renewable energy project’s supply chain partners (vendors, suppliers panels, inverters, circuit breakers, transformers) through regular engagements, meetings and conferences. Align development schedules to safe-harbor requirements for federal incentives. Lead the full generation interconnection process, including pre-application feasibility analysis, Interconnection application preparation, submission, and tracking. Review and manage the Generator Interconnection Agreement (GIA) process with Transmission Owners. Formulate and solve power system optimization problems to improve energy market operations and planning. Analyze electricity market structures, pricing mechanisms and bidding strategies to support operational and investment decisions. Collaborate with internal finance team with interconnection related modelling assumptions and co-manage the interconnection budget to support strategic financial planning. Research and analyze the procurement market and suppliers for high-voltage equipment. Manage equipment procurement contracts, purchase agreements, and milestone payments up to delivery to site. Oversee equipment inspections and drawing approval processes; engage external consultants if needed. Manage technical due diligence for project acquisition. Collaborate with the internal development team to understand regulatory requirements and permitting processes for solar project. Managing project development permits for solar and storage projects. 


Telecommuting is permitted once a week, must reside within NYC area.



Education requirements:   Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related field



Experience requirements: 2 years of experience in Project management.



Special Skills or Other Requirements:


Must have the following skills either through work experience or undergraduate/graduate academic studies that included coursework covering the following:


1. Solar Project Development

2. Utilize Python based optimization tools (e.g. CVXPY, Gurobi) to solve energy system problems

3. GIS Tools for preliminary project design

4. Managing Interconnection Processes

5. Supply chain management and Procurement of major High Voltage, solar and Energy storage equipment.

6. Solar project development tools: Plant Predict, Anderson Optimization, Glint, Transect. 



Travel requirements: Up to 10% domestic travel required.
