Position Title:Â SQL Database Administrator
Salary Range: $72,779 - $95,735
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in programming to manage and optimize our database systems, ensure data integrity, and contribute to application development. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, implementing, and maintaining databases while supporting development teams with SQL and programming expertise.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Database Administration:
- Manage, monitor, and maintain SQL databases to ensure high availability and performance.
- Implement and oversee backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
- Optimize database performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and resolve issues.
- Design and implement database schemas, tables, and indexing strategies.
• Programming and Development Support:
- Write efficient and optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and integrate databases into applications.
- Automate database-related tasks using programming languages (e.g., PowerShell, or C#).
• Security and Compliance:
- Implement database security measures, including role-based access control and encryption.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and analysts.
- Create and maintain documentation for database systems, configurations, and processes.
In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements, candidates must possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college; and
- Minimum two (2) to four (4) years of experience in the SQL DBA or in a related role.
- Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server.Â
Preferred Requirements/Skills:Â
- Familiarity with Ubuntu or its variant.
- Proficiency with C# programming language.Â

- Current office employees:Â To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least 1 year in their current position and be in good standing. In addition, must meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
- Looking for candidates that could commit to one (1) year to the hiring Unit.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.Â
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.Â
