Job Description:

About the Team:

The Global Business Operations Strategy & Operations team is a dynamic, newly established function driving organizational clarity, operational efficiency, and execution across Dow Jones. Operating as a high-impact Center of Excellence (COE), this new team combines strategic execution—such as OKRs, operating cadences, dashboards—with process optimization. We map, redesign, and optimize end-to-end workflows to translate business pain points into strategic improvements, digital automation, and technology opportunities.

About the Role

The Senior Analyst sits within GBO Strategy & Operations and plays a key role in delivering operational performance, workflow optimization, and strategic alignment across the enterprise. As an early team member, you will have the unique chance to help establish our frameworks, playbooks, and service model from scratch.

This is fundamentally an analytical, diagnostic, and facilitation role—you will not be building technical systems directly, but you will own the process redesigns, operational diagnostics, metrics frameworks, and strategic handoffs that ensure initiatives deliver tangible business value.

In this role, you will operate across multiple intake channels: working directly on business unit operational requests, embedding within GBO PMO-led projects, supporting internal strategic planning and cadences, and partnering with Tech to translate future-state process designs into automation and AI blueprints.

You will report to the Director of Strategy & Operations and be based in our NYC office.

You Will:

Process Optimization & Workflow Redesign

  • Lead structured working sessions, interviews, and observations to map current-state workflows, swimlanes, decision rights, and pain points across business units.

  • Redesign end-to-end processes to remove bottlenecks, eliminate friction, establish clear handoffs, and define explicit human-vs.-technology task allocation.

  • Evaluate business pain points to translate future-state designs into clear automation, technology, or AI recommendations; prepare handoff packages for Tech teams with recommendations

  • Conduct root-cause analysis, identify operational risks, and establish process baselines to frame improvement opportunities.

  • Audit existing platforms and prototype lightweight solutions—including experimenting with AI tools—to test feasibility and solve business problems before recommending tech builds.

  • Help build and scale Process Mapping templates, playbooks, and self-service enablement resources across Dow Jones.

Strategy & Operations Execution

  • Embed metric frameworks, establish baselines and support the development of dashboard to track performance and ROI (e.g., time savings, cost reduction, quality thresholds).

  • Support GBO program reporting, OKR tracking, and status dashboards to provide executive visibility into key initiatives.

  • Own execution of the Innovation Pairing Program, including administration of communications, meetings, and operating cadences to keep the program running and embed a culture of continuous improvement across GBO key partners.

  • Partner smoothly across Business Units, GBO PMO, Tech, and Organizational Development, and others to align process recommendations with broader strategic roadmaps, technical builds, and org design.

  • Facilitate and execute core GBO operational rhythms, including executive deck creation, quarterly all-hands coordination, leadership offsite planning, and weekly status updates.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Process Optimization, Strategy & Ops, or Management Consulting in a technology-adjacent environment.

  • Demonstrated experience writing business requirements documents, process maps, user stories, or functional specifications.

  • Exceptional facilitation and communication skills to drive cross-functional alignment, paired with enthusiasm for helping build a new team function from the ground up.

  • Hands-on experience with project tracking tools such as Jira and comfort working within established SDLC or agile delivery frameworks.

  • Experience with at least one AI or automation platform in a professional setting.
