The Department of Neurology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Staff Assistant 1 / Stroke Center Operations Administrator.
Operational Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day Stroke Center operations.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary Stroke Center meetings and stroke huddles three times each week.
- Prepare agendas, record detailed meeting minutes, and distribute action items.
- Maintain Stroke Center calendars and coordinating meetings involving multiple departments.
- Support hospital leadership and the Stroke Medical Director with operational initiatives.
- Coordinate communications among physicians, nursing leadership, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, Neuro Interventional Radiology, Laboratory Medicine, Information Technology, Pharmacy, Rehabilitation Services, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Human Resources, and hospital administration.
- Assist with policy development and revisions. Managing presentations, reports, dashboards, and regulatory documentation.
Regulatory and Accreditation Responsibilities
- Maintain Advanced Primary Stroke Center certification requires continuous monitoring and documentation rather than preparation immediately before surveys.
- Support ongoing compliance by:
- Coordinate The Joint Commission (TJC) Stroke Survey Readiness Program.
- Maintain regulatory documentation.
- Prepare agendas and minutes for regulatory readiness meetings.
- Manage the Stroke Gap Analysis tracking tool containing more than 500 Advanced Primary Stroke Center standards across six regulatory domains.
- Coordinate activities involving Medical Board, Human Resources, Nursing Administration, Institute of Continuous Learning, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Department.
