This entry-level role offers hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow yourĀ expertiseĀ from day one.Ā You will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants to support structural systems design and document development.Ā
You will collaborate across disciplines, support project planning and scheduling, and contribute to work that meets project goals, client expectations, and the project's monetary budget. This team supports commercial and institutional work across the New York metro, contributing to sustainable design goals including SE2050.Ā

What You'll DoĀ
AssistĀ in the design and analysis of structural systems using a variety of building materials, applying engineering software and tools to develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculationsĀ in accordance withĀ code requirements and IMEG standards.Ā
Interact with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, communicate technical information effectively, and build professional relationships.Ā
Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects andĀ assistĀ with project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines andĀ objectives.Ā
AssistĀ with documenting design decisions and client instructions whileĀ monitoringĀ project design progress.Ā
Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks, propose innovative solutions, and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.Ā
Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industryĀ standardsĀ and client requirements.Ā
Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in structural engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.Ā
Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work, conduct oneself in an ethical and professional manner, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.Ā
Engage in the full life cycle of projects from conception through construction by developing designs, construction documents andĀ participatingĀ in construction administration duties such as reviewing construction submittals andĀ participatingĀ in job site observations.Ā

Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent,Ā requiredĀ
Masterās Degree (MS)Ā requiredĀ
Required Skills/AbilitiesĀ
Knowledge of design techniques, design standards including steel, concrete, wood, masonry, and concepts involved in structural systems of buildings and structuresĀ
Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to structural mechanics and materials as it relates to structural design of buildings and other structuresĀ
Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools including structural analysis and design softwareĀ
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsĀ
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment andĀ demonstrateĀ effective team building skillsĀ
Attention to detail and problem-solving skillsĀ
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challengesĀ
Basic knowledge in the use of BIM software.Ā
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsĀ
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookĀ
Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight staysĀ
PreferredĀ
Masterās Degree (MS) in Structural Engineering preferredĀ
Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferredĀ
Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferredĀ

State of New York Salary Range: $76,000 ā $81,000Ā
Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
