Role Overview

Lead the front of house staff to successfully uphold the core values of Magnolia Bakery’s Mission Statement. Consistently presenting and promoting brand integrity, product quality and customer service standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the manager on duty to support, direct and motivate staff.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with management and staff to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the bakery.
  • Assist management with scheduling of breaks and meal periods; supports management with the adherence to policies, procedures, and job assignments. Train staff on Company process, policies, procedures, and job assignments. 
  • Perform regular daily store activities such as opening and closing procedures.
  • Perform good customer service by assisting customers in person or on the phone. Answer product and order inquiries.
  • Demonstrate teamwork within the bakery by leading by example and working side by side promoting the ideals of teamwork.
  • Ensure each customer receives exceptional customer service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintain outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of exceptional customer service. Effectively directs and leads staff to deliver the same quality service. 
  • Resolve customer problems with a sense of urgency. 
  • Help to create a development plan for each FOH employee to maintain full individual potential.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Position requires standing and walking for period of 3-5 hours without a rest break.
  • Occasional moderate to heavy lifting and carrying, bending, and reaching overhead may be required.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, coworkers, and management
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. 

Qualifications & Ingredients for Success

  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience overseeing 10 or more employees in a food service or retail service environment.
  • Leadership skills including strong ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of individuals.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory and customer service skills.
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • High energy person able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Follows policies and procedures.
  • Understands expectations of the role and works within boundaries of the role.
