We are currently looking for a System Engineer (“SE”) to join our team! The SE to perform an integral role for a large-scale, logistically complex technology refresh program for a large K-12 client.

The selected SE will be responsible for equipment configuration, and integration of network infrastructure wireless equipment, and Access Control for a large K-12 client.  Depending upon assignments, travel throughout Long Island and the five boroughs of NYC is to be expected.      

Salary: $70,000-$80,000

What You'll Do:

  • Overall success of the technical services assigned to them under the program.
  • Configuration of Meraki and Cisco Network and Wireless gear  
  • Complete integration of Cisco and Meraki Network and Wireless gear
  • Integration of Access Control systems as required
  • Troubleshooting network and wireless issues
  • Compliance with Program’s technical standards.
  • Completing all Program defined deliverables in a timely manner
  • Identify and communicate issues in a timely manner
  • Clear concise communication with both the client and home office
  • Work with PMO to complete all project deliverables

What You Bring: 

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in implementing Cisco and Meraki gear  
  • Technical skills in the area of Networking and Wireless technologies
  • Ability to quickly get up to speed on contractual requirements and standards
  • Solid aptitude across Microsoft Office Suite  - especially Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Must be willing to work 2nd shift hours (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM) at client sites through NYC on a regular basis (potentially daily for several months).  2nd Shift will rotate to normal business hours in the summer months when schools are closed. 
  • Proficient in English

Qualified candidates should possess the following technical skills:

  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in LAN/WAN environments with responsibility for maintaining network services, security & administration
  • Manage and maintain Cisco ASA and Cisco Secure Firewall 3105/3110
  • Cisco Infrastructure and Meraki Wireless experience/knowledge
  • A thorough understanding of network infrastructure and protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, IPX, AppleTalk)
  • Expertise in firewall security (NAT, IPSEC, SD-WAN, routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF), and cloud security solutions.
  • Knowledge of VLAN structures and configuration backup
  • One major network certification (CCNA, CCNP.) a plus
  • General knowledge of content delivery engines and proxy servers
  • Video Surveillance systems – Genetec a PLUS
  • Desktop OS, NOS and application support experience
  • Most of the work is based in the 5 boroughs, however applicants must be willing to Hauppauge Long Island as required.  

The position is based in Hauppauge, LI and will require daily travel into the five boroughs of New York City.   Candidates must have access to an automobile they can use for work daily.
