Job Title: Team Leader, IMT


Job Summary:

CASES seeks a supervisor to manage Choices ATD Program serving youth awaiting disposition in Bronx & Manhattan Family court. Our goal is to provide advocacy, resources, trusting relationships, educational support, and engaging activities. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on supervisor who seeks an opportunity to train, support, and uplift a team. 

Choices Alternative to Detention (ATD) aims to help young people who have a case in Family Court gain; competence, confidence, positive connections with peers and adults, build character/self-esteem, contribute to their communities, and reduce their involvement in the criminal legal system. Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Coach works with young people and their families to develop goals around education, health and wellness, youth development, and reduction in recidivism. The objective of this role is to ensure participants and their families receive opportunities to engage in creative and enriching services that are; strengths-based, culturally relevant, support participants and their families in achieving their self-identified goals, aid in the process of reducing recidivism, and are adherent to the core principles of risk, need and responsivity.

This position requires flexible hours as programming/activities can go until 7 pm on some days. There is an opportunity for creativity while developing programming and engaging activities. 


Salary: The salary for the Team Leader is $78,000.00.

Shift Hours: The Team Leader is full-time Monday through Friday 9am-5pm shift.

Location Address:  424 East 147th Street, Bronx, NY 10455. As needed to court, CASES offices, community visits, partnership meetings 

Workplace Flexibility: Flexible (for roles that have days that can be partially remote, e.g., being able to draft notes at home after going to the office/community in the morning). Maximum 1 remote workday per week. 


What you will be doing:

  • Attract, develop, coach, and retain team members, empowering them to elevate their competence, impact, and performance 
  • Promote staff development and competence through coaching, and structured supervision 
  • Facilitate cohesive team functioning that enables staff to perform and deliver services to the highest level 
  • Develop strong working relationships with community partners
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and individual supervision 
  • Ensure timely and quality data completion to promote real-time data reporting and performance measurement 
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for program funds, including petty cash, and carfare
  • Act as an escalation contact for staff in addressing complex and risk management situations, informed by crisis intervention, resolution, and knowledge to disrupt and respond to potential violence – this includes going into the field for complex cases with coaches 
  • Meet with Director weekly for supervision 
  • Work flexible hours when required 
  • Other duties as assigned by Director 


'What we are looking for: 

  • 5 years of experience working with court-involved youth
  • 2 years of supervisory experience 
  • A belief and interest in working collaboratively with communities, youth and families
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to be creative and flexible
  • Commitment to active youth engagement through collaboration with youth and their families
  • Trained in or committed to training to become competent in a CBT, harm reduction and trauma informed approach as a means of engaging young people
  • Experience developing relationships with schools, community-based organizations and/or other service providers 


Additional, preferred skills we are looking for but are not required:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
