Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and deployment of network infrastructure for new builds, retrofits, and expansions across office, data center, retail, and POP facility types
- Collaborate with network engineering, workplace design and engineering, and connectivity teams to develop comprehensive network infrastructure design packages tailored to each building type
- Apply technology standards throughout the design phase and ensure consistent application across all facility verticals including retail environments with unique connectivity requirements
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for physical network infrastructure design — structured cabling, fiber optic systems, and wireless — across diverse facility types
- Use drafting software to produce and markup architectural/technology drawings with electrical and data symbols aligned to Meta design standards
- Influence future iterations of facility and network designs to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure and enable scalability
- Consult with Design Engineering/SMEs for non-standard spaces including retail environments, specialized labs, and unique build-out configurations
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure fiber infrastructure management tools accurately reflect design intent and capture infrastructure changes
- Drive all aspects of network construction and deployment including new sites, retrofits, and build-outs across office, data center, retail, and POP facilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership during analysis, design development, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases
- Perform site visits and work cross-functionally with construction teams, design architects, and contractors to validate infrastructure builds according to Meta's standards
- Manage onsite integration for all new builds and retrofits — removing roadblocks for technicians and contractors during deployment
- Drive alignment of network technology milestones with build schedules; own tracking and reporting of project status
- Perform testing and commissioning handovers from Meta commissioning technicians and third-party vendors
- Perform risk management and change management on active projects
- Develop and track budgets, forecasts, and actuals for network build projects across all facility types
- Serve as the primary technical interface between network engineering, build, and design teams
- Work with design and build teams to identify and remedy process gaps, driving continuous improvement in delivery methodologies
- Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors across the build and technology ecosystem
- Manage end-to-end hardware procurement lifecycle — from specification and vendor selection through purchase orders, delivery tracking, and warehouse coordination
- Own hardware logistics including inventory management, staging, shipping to site, and ensuring materials arrive aligned with build schedules
- Coordinate with vendors and supply chain partners to resolve lead time issues, backorders, and hardware substitutions
- Perform logical network bootstrapping functions to ensure internal tools reflect network hardware and circuits
- Identify operational pain points and opportunities to improve business practices
- Initiate and lead strategic initiatives that drive efficiency, innovation, and standardization through coding and automation
- Maintain technical references, processes, and training documentation
- Provide day-to-day project coordination and quality assurance across active deployments and tasks
- Manage project schedules, dependencies, and milestones across multiple concurrent builds
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of work experience with designing and deploying large-scale Office/Data Center network infrastructure
- Demonstrated knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure, including design and installation best practices, industry standards, applications, and limitations
- Knowledge of the data center/office building architecture and network design, construction, and startup/commissioning processes
- Experience driving cross-functional collaboration across technical teams through infrastructure project lifecycles
- Track record of solving problems, setting strategic direction, and executing tactically
- Working knowledge of internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching), and optical transport technologies
- Knowledge of enterprise and provider-level network hardware platforms (IP + optical)
- Experience organizing and prioritizing competing workstreams based on impact, deadlines, and stakeholder needs, and communicating project status to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering network infrastructure projects in diverse facility types (data centers, corporate offices, retail/commercial spaces)
- Experience working with on-site construction teams and managing contractor and vendor relationships through project completion
- Knowledge of inside/outside plant cable design, dark fiber builds, and structured cabling for new constructions
- Experience working on a global team in a matrixed environment with limited supervision
- Familiarity with retail store technology requirements and unique deployment constraints (smaller footprints, customer-facing environments, accelerated timelines)
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
