BluePearl Pet Hospital in Queens, NY is seeking a compassionate, organized, and motivated Veterinary Receptionist to join our team!
Schedule: Sun-Wed, 8am-6pm
Pay: $21.50 - $29.50 + competitive shift differentials
This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool.
We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example:
Ā· Mon ā Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential
Ā· Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift Differential
Ā· Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00 Shift Differential
At BluePearl Pet Hospital, our Veterinary Receptionists are imperative to the success of our hospital. In this position, you are the first BluePearl Associate that the client sees. You will ensure that each client receives the care and attention that they need. You will need to be able to function calmly and compassionately in situations that can be very emotional and difficult for our clients.
Duties of a Veterinary Receptionist:
Greet each individual with warm, professional acknowledgement and friendly eye contact whenever the hospital entry door opens.
Maintain a friendly smile, confident eye contact, and an approachable demeanor.
Listen compassionately and attentively to clients and their concerns.
Communicate clearly, calmly, and at an appropriate pace, both in person and over the telephone, ensuring information is easily understood.
Immediately assess each clientās needs upon arrival, as well as the petās general condition.
Determine whether an emergency arrival requires a āstatā response or is considered a standard emergency.
Respond to non-patient calls and visitors and connect them with the appropriate team member.
Confirm all appointments in advance and ensure clients receive accurate information regarding appointment preparation and pet care requirements.
Provide emotional support and appropriate resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during the handling of pet remains, ensuring the process is complete, accurate, and compassionate.
