Vice President, Product Manager – Consumer Branded Cards Core Capabilities
Position Summary
The Consumer Branded Cards Product organization is seeking a Vice President, Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and modernization of core credit card capabilities supporting Chase's Sapphire and J.P. Morgan Reserve (JPMR) portfolios. This leader will be responsible for defining and delivering foundational product experiences that power the end-to-end cardmember lifecycle, including acquisition, servicing, account management, rewards and benefits, spending capabilities, and customer engagement.
This role requires a strategic product leader who can balance customer needs, business objectives, technology modernization, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence while driving innovation across one of the industry's largest credit card portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Delivery
- Define and execute the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for core credit card capabilities across Sapphire and JPMR products.
- Lead large-scale product initiatives from discovery through implementation, ensuring alignment to business objectives and customer outcomes.
- Partner closely with Technology, Design, Data & Analytics, Servicing, Operations, Marketing, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Finance teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Establish product success metrics and leverage customer insights, analytics, and market trends to continuously improve performance.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Provide strategic direction, prioritization guidance, and career development support to product team members.
- Drive strong stakeholder management across executive leadership, technology teams, and cross-functional partners.
- Champion Agile product management practices, ensuring effective backlog management, prioritization, roadmapping, and value delivery.
- Partner with Technology and Product Agility teams to continuously improve operating models, delivery processes, and team effectiveness.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, continuous feedback, and data-driven decision making.
AI & Digital Innovation
- Lead adoption of AI-first product development practices to accelerate product discovery, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experiences.
- Leverage generative AI, predictive analytics, and automation to improve customer servicing, decisioning, personalization, and product operations.
- Drive the use of emerging technologies and AI-powered tools to improve product team productivity and delivery outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of product management, product strategy, product development, or related experience, with a demonstrated track record of delivering complex, customer-facing capabilities.
- Experience leading teams and developing talent within a product management organization.
- Proven success operating within Agile delivery environments and partnering closely with technology organizations.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders across large, matrixed organizations.
- Experience building product roadmaps, business cases, and investment strategies that drive measurable outcomes.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in credit cards, consumer banking, lending, payments, rewards, or financial services.
- Deep knowledge of core credit card capabilities, customer servicing, account management, rewards ecosystems, or acquisitions.
- Experience leading digital transformation, platform modernization, or enterprise-scale product initiatives.
