What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Director to join our Strategic Partnership Team. Petra’s Strategic Partnership Platform is one of our fastest-growing and highest-touchpoint business units. The team is responsible for co-sourcing and lift-out relationships and is known as the industry lead. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role will own client and team relationships from proposal through execution and ongoing relationship management. This role combines strategic client management with hands-on oversight of impacted employees, ensuring smooth migrations, strong long-term retention and heavy collaboration with internal stakeholders. Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary relationship contact for clients, from proposal through execution and ongoing services, in collaboration with the Strategic Partnership Team for both Lift-out and Co-sourcing clients
  • Participate in prospective client sales meetings, support pipeline management, and contribute to marketing efforts
  • Maintain a working understanding of Petra’s overall relationship with each client and surface additional service opportunities
  • Execute and manage legal documentation required for each engagement
  • Coordinate with finance team to ensure fees are invoiced accurately in accordance with the engagement letter
  • Work directly with Strategic Partnership team and Partners on strategic client matters
  • Heavily partner with Petra’s People team, build deep relationships with talent acquisition and business partners
  • Act as a trusted industry resource for clients, applying private equity expertise and directing questions to the right internal expert when neede
  • Provide ongoing coaching, check-ins, and support to both Lift-out and Co-Sourcing employees
  • Closely collaborate with Petra People team regarding performance cycle, determine cadence, external participation and communication plan

Co-Sourcing

  • Partner with and communicate frequently with the client to understand business requirements: build a team, add to an existing team due to growth or attrition, identify specialized talent to assist with project-based needs, etc.
  • Work with Petra’s People team to open and manage roles throughout process; ensure client urgency and demands are balanced effectively
  • Participate in interviews to ensure talent and client goals align

Lift-Out

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients; typically including client CFO, General Counsel, COO and other senior GP leadership.
  • Lead discovery discussions to shape migration plan including, understanding team culture, roles, leaders, and key resources
  • Build rapport with transitioning team, with specific focus on key leaders and high-stakes employees
  • Define and document senior leadership’s end-state vision across staff, technology, and HR needs
  • Work heavily with Petra’s People team comparing benefits, preparing for onboarding, fielding employee queries, ensuring a seamless employee experience.

 

 

What You’ll Need:

  • 10+ years of experience in private equity, fund administration, management consulting or public accounting industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in data validation and reconciliation
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Experience with client relationship management

 

 

Salary Range

At Petra Funds Group, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring practices. The compensation range for this position is $122,000 – $183,000. This range represents the base salary only. Actual pay will depend on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills.
