Your role as an Urban Water Resources Engineer-in-Training is to work on sewer / water planning projects across the country under the guidance from the Subject Matter Experts (SME) in the industry. You will learn and further develop both technical and non-technical skillsets to become a solid engineering consultant. You will be part of our national urban water resources modeling team to deliver high quality products in a fast-paced environment. You will perform a variety of tasks which will include model development and calibration, identify and develop flood mitigation solutions, determine sewer or water infrastructure improvement needs for future growth, and support water or sewer design.

Your Key Responsibilities 

  • Use knowledge of general concepts of relevant civil engineering elements including system hydraulics, surveying and topographic mapping, geotechnical considerations, grading, utility investigations and analyses. 

  • Assist team in preparing analyses and results for client presentations and technical reports. 

  • Assist team in preparing design drawings, specifications, quantity estimates, cost opinions, and gather information to support design decisions.  

  • Conduct basic calculations and performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned and under the supervision of a project engineer. 

  • Perform GIS analyses to support engineering and technical decisions and presentations 

  • Prepare design reports and technical memorandums to summarize engineering tasks 

  • Work with multi-disciplinary design teams in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer.  

  • Assist the team in providing support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.  

  • May perform field work related to collection systems.  

  • Assist in supporting the civil team in providing support services during capital improvement planning that can include data reviews, research, hydraulic analyses, and requests for information from different agencies. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
