About The Position
 We are seeking a skilled General Surgeon for a 7-day locum tenens assignment at a Hospital in New York. Starting on 12/22/2025, this role offers 24-hour call coverage from 7 AM to 7 AM daily through December 29, 2025. The position focuses on providing trauma care, acute care surgery, and general surgery services for inpatients when called back in. As the locum surgeon, you will be responsible for stabilizing patients and coordinating transfers in a rural setting. This opportunity requires trauma experience and the ability to handle a wide range of surgical cases in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide 24-hour call coverage for general surgery and trauma cases
• Handle trauma cases, including patient stabilization and transfer coordination
• Perform acute care surgery procedures as needed
• Manage general surgery inpatients when called back in
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in a rural hospital setting
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
• Deliver high-quality surgical care in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Make quick, informed decisions in emergency situations
Additional Information:
• New York state medical license required
• Board certification in General Surgery
• Trauma experience is essential
• Comfort with working in a rural facility and managing complex cases
• Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a high-stress environment
