Overview
Prime Security is seeking a Senior Field Security Architect to serve as the technical cornerstone of our customer-facing team. This role is the bridge between our Agentic Security Architect platform and the enterprise security leaders who depend on it.
This is a senior individual contributor role. The ideal candidate combines the strategic mindset of a Security Architect, the technical fluency of a Solutions Engineer, and the relationship instincts of a trusted advisor. You will own the full technical relationship with prospects and customers, from initial Proof of Value through production adoption, ensuring they realize measurable outcomes from design-stage security coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Proof of Value Ownership
- Lead end-to-end POV execution for prospects, the value of the platform through all stages of the POV period.
- Map customer threat models, security workflows, and architectural patterns to Prime’s platform, translating technical fit into business outcomes.
- Collaborate with Sales to build compelling, evidence-based business cases that resonate with CISO and senior buyers.
Customer Onboarding & Adoption
- Own the technical onboarding journey—from integration configuration through first automated design review and beyond.
- Configure the Security Context Engine to reflect each customer’s organizational security posture, approved design patterns, and risk tolerances.
Trusted Security Advisor
- Serve as the authoritative technical voice for key accounts, providing strategic guidance on integrating design-stage security into their PDLC.
- Translate customer security architecture challenges into platform requirements, feeding insights to Product and Engineering.
- Advise customers on emerging risks from AI-generated code and how Prime’s Guard capability provides secure architecture context to AI coding assistants.
- Provide proactive, high-touch engagement for strategic accounts, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and expansion.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues, coordinating across engineering, product, and customer success to drive resolution.
- Contribute to platform strategy by surfacing patterns across customer environments—common integration challenges, recurring security architecture gaps, and opportunities for new use cases.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 8+ years in a customer-facing technical role (Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Security Engineering, or similar) with at least 3 years at a senior or principal level.
- Demonstrated experience as a Security Architect or in a security-focused role within a mid-to-large enterprise environment.
- Deep, hands-on understanding of product security review processes, threat modeling, and secure design principles in enterprise settings.
- Proven track record of leading POVs and onboarding for security or developer tooling platforms with enterprise customers.
- Experience working within or alongside software development and product teams—you understand how features move from design to production.
Technical Knowledge
Security Architecture & Frameworks:
- Comprehensive knowledge of threat modeling methodologies (STRIDE, PASTA, Attack Trees, LINDDUN) and practical experience applying them in design reviews.
- Fluency with security frameworks: OWASP, NIST CSF/SSDF, ISO 27001, MITRE ATT&CK.
- Understanding of secure-by-design principles and how they apply across the PDLC—from requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment.
Development Lifecycle & Tooling:
- Extensive familiarity with engineering planning and collaboration tools like Jira, Linear, GitHub/GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of where security integrates across the SDLC/PDLC and the friction points that slow teams down.
AI & Emerging Trends:
- Awareness of AI-assisted software development trends, including the security implications of AI-generated code.
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar integration standards for AI tooling is a differentiator.
- Understanding of the evolving AI code co-pilot landscape and its impact on security architecture.
Skills & Attributes
- Executive-level communication: ability to present security strategy to CISOs and translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Consultative problem-solving: you diagnose root causes, not just symptoms, and propose solutions that account for organizational constraints.
- Cross-functional collaboration: comfortable working across product, engineering, sales, and customer success in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Self-directed and proactive: you anticipate customer needs and surface issues before they escalate.
- Comfort with ambiguity: this is a senior role in a Series A company—you’ll help define the playbook, not just run it.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications: CISSP, ISSAP, CSSLP, or equivalent.
- Prior experience at a cybersecurity vendor or in a field engineering role at a security-focused startup.
- Background in Application Security Posture Management (ASPM), SAST/DAST tooling, or security orchestration platforms.
- Experience with enterprise customers in Financial Services, Healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with SOC 2 Type II, FedRAMP, or similar compliance frameworks from a vendor perspective.
Compensation: New York, NY - $170,000 – $215,000 base salary. Compensation package includes equity and competitive benefits; base salary determined by candidate experience and qualifications.
