Position Summary:

The VP Platform Services role is responsible for leading a team that builds reusable services that adhere to the application requirements as well as the future design patterns that enable the applications to leverage these components as they modernize or migrate to new locations (cloud etc.).

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in platform engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership.
  • Deep engineering experience on large scale and systemically important systems.
  • Strong architectural knowledge on building supportable services.
  • Excellent team leadership skills and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, able to balance short-term priorities with long-term vision.

Qualifications desired:

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong background in Agile engineering practices
  • Strong understanding on CI/CD principles


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Talent Management, including team building and ensuring the team is sufficiently staffed to meet goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals under pressure.
  • Understanding of budgeting process and how to manage resources to the budgeted dollars.

Success factors/job competencies:

  • Building services with supporting documentation and training
  • Requirements gathering and rapid feedback on adequacy.
  • Good interpersonal skills and providing team feedback quickly and appropriately.

Physical demands and work environment: Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $200,000-$275,000. Base salary will be determined by the role, experience, skill set and location. For eligible positions, discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded contingent on personal and company performance.
