Medical Assistant - Rheumatology (Part Time)
Location: Manhattan, NY
Hours: Tue & Wed 2/ 10 hr shifts (8am - 6pm)

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
As Medical Assistant (MA)at NYH, you will be integral to the care and support of both patients and the medical team. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Patient Care: Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording. Record patients' vital signs. Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests. Perform diagnostic testing under the direct supervision of a Physician or APP. Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
Support & Coordination: Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process. Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.Prepare examination rooms for consults and procedures.
Patient Interaction: Prepare patients for examinations/procedures. Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures.
Clinical Support: Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures. Perform diagnostic testing under the direct supervision of a Physician or APP.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
Valid MA Certification
Highschool diplomaÂ
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Skills & Experience:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
At least 1 year of working in an outpatient medical facility.
Strong interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals
Experience with EMR’s
Attention to detail and professional conduct
Additional Requirements:
Reliable transportation to travel between NYH locations
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Bi-Lingual, English/Spanish Preferred.
