The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Clinical Associate Professor (12 Month). The successful candidate will:

  • Support the accreditation process and assists the Dean with strategies planning for the college; and other activities to support the mission of the college.
  • Teach the graduate program
  • Use innovative, active teaching and learning strategies.
  • Advise students in area of doctoral work; mentor students in evidence-based research and scholarship.
  • Evaluate and provide documented feedback on students’ performance.
  • Report to Executive Vice Dean.
  • Engage in scholarly activities.
  • Work in collaboration with other faculty to support the mission of the College of Nursing.
  • Collaborate with the Deans of Faculty Department.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License.
  • 5 years of progressive teaching and academic leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Evidence of scholarship.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of independent and collaborative research and extramural funding.
  • Experience teaching in a DNP Program.
  • Experience in curriculum development and evaluation.
  • Experience teaching in a Distance Education Program.
