The Department of Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor(HS) / Director of Pediatric Pulmonology. The successful candidate's duties include:

Administrative/Teaching:

  • Supervision of Pediatric Asthma Clinic at UHB (NS41).
  • Director of Pediatric Lung Function Laboratory and Codirector of Pediatric Exercise Physiology Laboratory.
  • Evaluation of children referred to the laboratory for procedures, supervision of 2 technicians, interpretation of procedures & prepare and provide reports to referring physicians.
  • Serve as a preceptor for 3rd year medical students.

 

Clinical:

  • Provide up to 5 months of consultation service at University Hospital.
  • Conduct 1-2 outpatient session per week in the faculty practice, accepting all referrals from the departmental general pediatric practice group and outside community physicians for consultation.
  • Participate in coverage of the Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy service.
  • Clinical responsibilities will also include providing weekend inpatient general pediatrics call two weekends per month.

 

Research:

  • Supervise all research activity in the Division.
  • Develop and implement clinical research projects.
  • Generate peer reviewed publications and present data at National meetings.
  • Supervise medical students who opt to take part in clinical research.
