Day Shift - 7.5 Hours (United States of America)

 

Works on patient tray line and assembles food trays as marked on food menu orders with adherence to hygiene and safety standards.

Consistently checks own work area and removes outdated, expired and mishandled food items.

Food preparation, assembling, arranging, portioning, and labeling food tray items for hospital patients accurately executing food order menu instructions according to hygiene and safety standards.

Participates in inventory control by informing the manager of low or out of stock situations.

Maintains awareness of all policies and procedures, including changes to menus, recipes and portioning procedures. 

Actively participates in quality control, quality assurance, and quality improvement activities.

Maintains prepared foods, as purchased items according to policies and as indicated in the posted job aides. Labels, dates and rotates all productions and follows FIFO. 

Adheres to procedures for working with potentially hazardous foods and avoids holding such foods unattended in the danger zone (TDZ) 41°F - 135°F.

Contributes to the maintenance of a neat, clean and orderly work environment.

Incorporates the Mission of the Richmond University in serving patients, visitors and staff. 

Completes all assigned work tasks within time allotted by shift without leaving an excessive workload for following shifts. Communicates with the manager any assignments that could not be completed. 

Communicates to the manager any problems and priorities that are of concern.

During the time of low census or lightened workload, completes other tasks such as restocking, cleaning, organizing and assisting co-workers. 

Keeps fresh sanitizer buckets filled at the workstation and completes testing to be sure that the sanitizer has maintained a concentration of 100 PPM.

Follows appropriate waste management process according to our recycling program. 

Adheres to all established processes, systems, standards and training programs for a safe and hygienic working environment. Complies with all OSHA regulations, and other local, state and federal mandates.

Customer Service greets all visitors, patients and staff with a smile. Provides kind courteous service and works to exceed the customers’ expectations. 

Completes all RUMC required annual training on time. 

Follows procedures for requesting time off and clocking in and out. 

Maintains workstation with fresh sanitizer buckets and food preparation area that is clean, organized, and set up to prevent cross-contamination



Requirements:

HS Diploma or GED required.

Prior food service experience is preferred.

Ability to lift 25 lbs, bend, carry, reach, kneel, walk/stand for long periods of time, taste and smell.

Must be able to work in very hot and very cold work environments on a regular basis to withstand exposure to temperature and humidity changes, such as refrigerated storage areas, ovens/stoves and  dish-washing machines.

Must be able to effectively communicate (verbal and written) and carry out detailed instructions (verbal and written). Ability to read, understand, and follow diet orders, menu card and assignments.

Must be able to do basic problem-solving, navigation and computer skills and must be able to work well within time constraints.
