About Southern Queens Parks Association (SQPA)

Our programs offers students enriching, club-like experiences that promote academic achievement and leadership skills. NYC becomes the classroom—offering learning opportunities beyond school walls.


Position: Group Leader (K–5)
We're looking for Group Leaders to support K–5 students in both academics and enrichment activities. This in-person, position offers hands-on experience in education and youth development, with the potential for continued employment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise students and ensure a safe, positive environment.
  • Support instruction in ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
  • Assist with physical education, visual arts, and performing arts.
  • Promote collaboration through group activities and research projects.
  • Escort students between activities in a timely, orderly manner.
  • Support certified staff with lesson planning and classroom prep.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and incidents.
  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and program evaluations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Program Director(s).
