About the Opportunity: Chelsea Piers Field House is seeking skilled Gymnastics Instructors to join our Field House team in Chelsea. Instructors will primarily work recreational classes, school break camps, birthday parties, and special events. This is a part-time hourly position, with the possibility of moving to full-time status. Primary Responsibilities: Teach gymnastics classes for children ages 1–16, focusing on skill development and progression Create and follow lesson plans aligned with program curriculum for a variety of ages and abilities Engage students with energy and enthusiasm to create a fun, positive learning environment Ensure a safe environment by enforcing rules and properly using equipment Come prepared by arriving on time, knowing students’ names, and understanding their progressions Adapt instruction to meet different skill levels and learning styles Communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, and parents Set up, maintain, and break down equipment Work collaboratively in a team environment with a positive, professional attitude Take attendance and follow all company policies and procedures Complete USA Gymnastics Safety Certification and SafeSport Certification within the first month of employment The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee. QualificationsAbout You: You are dependable, punctual, and passionate about gymnastics or Ninja and working with children. You have: 3–5+ years of gymnastics coaching experience, primarily in recreational programming Strong understanding of progressions from preschool through advanced recreational levels Experience running structured classes with clear lesson plans and measurable skill development Confident spotting across all four events (Bars, Beam, Floor, Vault) within a recreational setting Proven ability to manage multiple stations and maintain safe coach-to-athlete ratios Demonstrated classroom management skills in high-energy environments Experience creating a fun, positive atmosphere while maintaining discipline and structure Strong parent communication skills and professionalism Ability to mentor newer coaches and model best practices on the floor CPR/AED & First Aid certified USAG membership preferred (or willingness to obtain) Availability for evenings and weekends
