Summary:

Join Presbyterian Healthcare as a Lead Patient Care Assistant! In this role, you’ll supervise patient care assistants, ensure smooth daily operations, support patient transport across departments, and assist with scheduling and onboarding. Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), ensuring efficient workflow, adequate staffing, and proper training.
  • Respond to organizational calls, address concerns, and use critical thinking to resolve issues in real time.
  • Coordinate delivery, removal, and transport of hospital beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, bariatric equipment, and essential devices.
  • Maintain and oversee departmental equipment, including electronic devices, oxygen cylinders, monitors, and malfunctioning equipment requiring repair.
  • Support patient transport by maintaining medical therapies (oxygen, IVs, restraints, catheters, isolation precautions) and communicating equipment alarms to nursing staff.
  • Facilitate patient flow by prioritizing transport requests, assisting with transfers, and utilizing bed‑tracking systems in collaboration with Presbyterian Care Connection (PCC).
  • Provide patient safety monitoring, assist with mobility/ambulation, and communicate changes in condition to nursing staff.
  •  Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, managing paperwork, documenting tardiness/call‑ins, and handling messages.
  •  Transport specimens, x‑rays, and equipment between departments while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to hospital policies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, support organizational changes, uphold policies and procedures,
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • HS/GED
  • More than 1 year experience in hospital setting and patient transport experience.
  • Current BLS required
