POSITION OVERVIEW

The position of Temporary Pharmacy Warehouse Technician is under close supervision and only when consistent with local pharmacy regulations, pick and pack supplies and medications, maintain work areas and stocks, and assist with pump maintenance and tracking. This is a short-term, 8–12 week onsite, temporary assignment at our Brooklyn, NY pharmacy.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pick and pack medical supplies and medications to fill patient orders. Ensure proper packaging of medications for shipping.
  • Ensure all orders are checked by a pharmacist prior to delivery.
  • Assist in maintenance of an accurate daily delivery log and refrigerator temperature log.
  • Restock pharmacy shelves as needed.
  • Keep warehouse area clean and organized efficiently.
  • Participate in monthly physical inventory.
  • Assist in cleaning and testing of infusion pumps and maintenance of tracking records.
  • Tracking and cleaning of infusion pumps as overseen and instructed by supervisor. 
  • Maintains infusion pump inventory and updates status in computer system with most up to date information regarding each pump as it happens. 
  • Coordinates pump retrieval from patients/nurses/physician offices when the pump is no longer in use or needs replacement for any reason. 
  • Coordinates preventative maintenance or repairs to pumps. 
  • Maintains all tracking records for testing, cleaning and preventative maintenance on all infusion pumps.
  • Maintains pump documents (preventative maintenance documents as well as pump logs from nurses, etc.) in CNG in the Pump Cabinet. 
  • Conducts a month end inventory of all infusion pumps.
  • Reports lost or damaged pumps, including serial numbers to corporate office monthly.


REQUIREMENTS

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Texas Only - Licensed as a Pharmacy Tech Trainee or Pharmacy Tech by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform physical labor and work under stressful conditions.
  • Previous experience working in a pharmacy
