Job DetailsJob Location: Production Roasting - Long Island City, NY 11101Salary Range: $20.00 - $20.00 HourlyPart-Time or Full-Time Production Assistant Job Summary: As a Production Assistant, you will be responsible for accurate labeling, packaging of coffee, equipment operation, packing for delivery, and organization of the roasting space. As a driver, you will be responsible for pickup and delivery of cold brew products between our off-site cold storage location in Brooklyn and our roasting space in Long Island City.   Key Responsibilities: Production Operation of packaging equipment, including weigh and fill, heat sealers, and scales. When required, learn use of new equipment and systems for achieving greater efficiencies. Ability to read spreadsheets, reports, and invoices for accurate, comprehensive packaging and packing tasks Must be organized, detail-oriented, and efficient   Warehouse Safety Receive annual warehouse safety training in order to participate in all workflows in observant and intentional ways Perform all production responsibilities in ways that are healthy for body and business Comply with all instruction concerning operating warehouse machinery and equipment   Cleanliness & Efficiency Maintain a tidy, organized work area during and after your shift Work with the production crew to expedite fulfilment of orders in a timely manner   Joe Coffee Values Curiosity Works with General Manager of Production, Assistant Manager of Production to cultivate an open environment of learning and growth Eagerness to contribute to team knowledge for evolving, communal problem-solving skills   Community Uses enlightened hospitality to cultivate community with coworkers or vendor representatives (i.e. delivery drivers) Understands and engages with the role of production as an important piece in successful business that is community and values-oriented.   Commitment Works diligently to support the success of Joe Roasting customers   Craft Understands and supports the role of production as an important part of the quality of our coffee products   Other Cultural and/or Leadership Expectations Adhere to the Code of Conduct for the Roastery and shared QC Lab: We respect our own time and that of those who share this space We share similar goals to grow, progress, and learn We are all linked, but not ranked We encourage one another to define a focus: we can do anything, but not everything We trust each individual as the authority on their own experience (which includes sensory experience!) Within a space of dialogue, we communicate with positive intent QualificationsRelevant Skills, knowledge & ability Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software (Google Docs, Microsoft Office) preferred but not required Experience in coffee or similar packaging/production roles Experience driving in NYC Ability to focus on small details within a task without interaction or supervision Ability to shift between working collaboratively and working independently Patient and kind with yourself and your teammates Safety (equipment, food) and/or efficiency training preferred but not required (forklift, OSHA compliance, HACCP, etc). Valid Driver License Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50lb Ability to work standing and moving in a non-climate-controlled environment
