Safeguard Security Group is a leading provider of professional security services throughout New York. We are seeking a reliable, professional, and attentive Part-Time Security Guard to join our growing team and help protect our clients, their staff, and their facilities.
Position Overview
The Security Guard will be assigned to a client location in Far Rockaway, NY. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, observant, calm under pressure, and committed to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor assigned posts and conduct regular interior and exterior patrols.
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, loitering, soliciting, and unauthorized activity.
- Manage building access by checking credentials, monitoring visitors and deliveries, and enforcing entry policies.
- Keep sidewalks, entrances, and surrounding areas clear and orderly.
- Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, disturbances, suspicious activity, and emergency situations.
- Notify site management immediately when an individual refuses to follow property rules or leave the premises when requested.
- Do not chase, restrain, or physically detain individuals.
- Maintain an accurate logbook, with entries at least every 45 minutes documenting patrols, visitors, deliveries, incidents, and work activity.
- Carry and properly use a radio for essential on-site communication.
- Maintain WhatsApp access throughout the shift for daily updates, communication, and reporting.
- Complete and submit accurate daily activity reports and incident reports to Safeguard Security Group management as required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Active New York State Security Guard License is required.
- Strong communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional in challenging situations.
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Previous security experience is preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range of $18.00–$26.85 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and assignment.
