What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and agency personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government service location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and report suspicious or unauthorized activity to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation; communicate observations and relevant information to supervisors and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
