TH Staff Assistant 2, Emergency Room (Hourly/Per Diem Nights)

The Department of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per diem TH Staff Assistant 2, Emergency Room (Nights). The successful candidate will: 

• Greet and assist patients, and visitors entering the Emergency Department at University Hospital of Brooklyn.
• Greet and answer telephone calls in a professional manner, take messages, relay messages in an appropriately and timely manner.
• Electronically record and document the temperature of all visitors entering the ED for treatment.
• Use Health Bridge (an electronic medical record system), monitoring patient movement within the hospital.
• Acts as liaison to the Department of Nursing and Registrar office (Patient Access).
• Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
• Maintains operational by following hospital policies and procedures and departmental protocols.
• Contributes to the ED team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
• Perform all additional job related duties as assigned.
