What you will be doing

Hours 9am-5pm

Schedule – Flexible as needed: weekends, weekdays, and holidays required

Position Summary

Successful candidate will support the Food and Nutrition department at Hospital for Special Surgery by providing comprehensive nutrition and collaborative food service care to meet our patients’ needs.   

Skills/Position Requirements

• Strong interpersonal, clinical, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent customer service and ability to communicate with all team members to resolve problems.

• Ability to take initiative, work independently, manage heavy workload.

with good time management skills.

• Experience with Epic and CBORD (Foodservice Suite) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition therapy to adult and pediatric inpatients according to medical condition and nutrition needs.
• Develop treatment plan to promote wound healing after surgery and maintain nutrition status.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and communications.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling.

Required Credentials

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD)

Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (CDN) in NYS

Pediatric experience

Masters degree preferred
