Overview 

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented intern to join our Cyber Underwriting team. This role offers hands‑on exposure to the underwriting process, with opportunities to support day‑to‑day operations, learn core insurance concepts, and gain insight into the rapidly evolving world of cyber risk. You’ll work closely with experienced underwriters and collaborate across teams to help deliver high‑quality insurance solutions for commercial clients. 

Key Responsibilities 

Underwriting Administration Support 

  • Assist underwriters with policy binding activities 

  • Gather, track, and follow up on underwriting subjectivities and outstanding information 

  • Support policy issuance and preparation of documentation 

  • Help maintain accurate underwriting files and internal records 

Exposure to Cyber Underwriting 

  • Learn foundational principles of cyber insurance underwriting, including risk assessment, coverage evaluation, and portfolio considerations 

  • Participate in underwriting meetings, broker calls, and internal training sessions 

  • Observe how cyber exposures are analyzed for large and complex commercial clients 

General Commercial Insurance Learning 

  • Build familiarity with key insurance concepts such as limits, deductibles, pricing fundamentals, and policy structure 

  • Gain insight into the broader underwriting workflow and how cross‑functional teams collaborate to deliver insurance solutions 

Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines 

  • Curious mindset with an interest in insurance, technology risk, or cyber‑related industries 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); familiarity with data tools is a plus 

What You’ll Learn 

During this internship, you’ll gain meaningful exposure to both the technical and strategic sides of underwriting. By the end of the program, you will have developed: 

Foundational Knowledge of Cyber Insurance 

  • How cyber risks are evaluated for organizations of varying size and complexity 

  • The key components of cyber insurance policies and how coverage decisions are made 

  • An understanding of emerging cyber threats and trends shaping the insurance market 

Hands‑On Underwriting Experience 

  • How underwriters assess submissions, review documentation, and make informed decisions 

  • The workflow behind binding, issuing, and maintaining commercial insurance policies 

  • Best practices for managing underwriting subjectivities and tracking outstanding information 

Program Overview/Benefits: 

  • Program Dates: June 2, 2026- August 14, 2026 

  • 3 Day Induction: June 2 - June 4, 2026 (Location, Warren, NJ) 

  • Hybrid Schedule: Minimum 3 days in the office per week 

  • Compensation: Hourly rate of $25.00
