Job Description:

CT Technologist
Locations: Brooklyn, NY
Hours/Days: 4/10 hour days, Mon-Thurs 7:30am-5:30pm
Organization: NY Imaging Specialists (NYI)

Key Responsibilities

As a CT Technologist at NYI, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing CT Imaging Procedures: Operate CT equipment and perform a wide range of imaging procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images that assist in accurate medical evaluations.

  • Preparing Patients: Explain CT procedures, position patients correctly, and administer contrast agents as required to ensure accurate imaging and patient comfort.

  • Utilizing Imaging Systems: Demonstrate proficiency with PACS and RIS systems to manage, store, and review images effectively.

  • Ensuring Safety & Expertise: Apply radiation safety principles, demonstrate expertise in cross-sectional anatomy, and manage contrast administration in accordance with established protocols.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct routine QA testing on CT scanners and maintain QA manuals to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

  • Maintaining Confidentiality: Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies to protect patient information at all times.

  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure all equipment is properly maintained. Order necessary supplies when required.

  • Independent Problem Solving: Work effectively with minimal supervision, demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical or procedural issues.

  • Communication: Communicate positively and promptly with co-workers, physicians, patients, and visitors to support a collaborative and patient-centered environment.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procedures comply with NYI, NYSDOH, and Federal regulations to maintain the highest quality and safety standards.

  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the imaging department and overall patient care

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Technologist (R.T.), required.

  • New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist with certification to inject IV contrast, required.

  • Maintain BLS certification, required.

  • CT Certification, ARRT (preferred).
     

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of CT experience; GE CT experience is a plus.

  • Proficiency with Radiology Systems, Microsoft Office, Google platform, and email communication.

  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to apply radiation safety protocols.

  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with superiors, colleagues, and patients.
     

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel to required NYI New Hyde Park and Brooklyn locations.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
