Sonic Summary

The Pharmacy Technician will support the Pharmacy Department by performing various tasks to ensure efficient operations.
Key responsibilities include assisting pharmacists with new orders, preparing and labeling drugs, and managing inventory.
Candidates must have completed a Technician Training Program and hold current certification (CPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
A minimum of one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required, preferably in a hospital setting.
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with a salary that reflects industry standards for the role.

The Pharmacy Technician shall perform those tasks that will allow the Pharmacy Department to function in the most productive and efficient manner possible. The Regulations of the Commissioner of Education enumerate tasks from which the Pharmacy Technician is prohibited.

Floor stock replacements.
Emergency Kit and Code Cart Replacements. Assist pharmacist is preparation of new orders.
Prepackage and label drugs.
Receive drug items.
Stock shelves with drug items and rotate stock.
Check for expired drugs.
Reorder supplies and drugs.
Restock returns and unused drugs.

Qualifications

Completed a Technician Training Program
Current certification (CPhT) meeting the requirements of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
Minimum of one (1) year experience working as a pharmacy Technician
Education Required - High School Graduate or possess a High School Equivalency certificate. Completion of Technician Training Program or Foreign college of Pharmacy
Experience/Skills Required - One year of pharmacy experience (preferably hospital).
