 Title: NPI Technical Writer

Department: Manufacturing Engineering 

Report to: Director of Process and Equipment Engineering

 Job Summary

The NPI Technical Writer creates and manages documentation, preliminary assembly procedures, and assists engineering staff in producing formalized assembly procedures.

 Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Documentation & Technical Writing:
  • Create, prepare, and maintain accurate technical documents, including work instructions, engineering bulletins, and failure analysis reports. 
  1. Process Development & Documentation:
  • Helping to establish and document manufacturing processes and work instructions. 
  1. Collaboration & Communication:
  • Working with design, manufacturing, and other relevant teams to ensure smooth product introduction. 
  1. Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyzing technical data to identify areas for improvement and providing reports on productivity and quality. 
  1. Process Optimization:
    • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and yield. 
  2. Assist ME in improving Unigen’s system of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and training of NPI.
  3. Coordinate the manufacturing launch of the new/revised product.
  4. Manage and document NPI ECO / MCO change requirements – create or update instructions and tooling if required and coordinate with production to implement necessary changes.

 Skills & Qualifications:

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering principles, and relevant software. 
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues. 
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement. 
  • Documentation Skills: Ability to create and maintain accurate technical documentation. 
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with other teams and individuals. 
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
