Data Engineer, R&D IT

Duties: Execute the vision for FMC’s data and analytics strategy, supporting a wide spectrum of data needs ranging from large scale data management, cloud infrastructure, modern data architecture, and data science use cases through rapid prototyping. Engineer and deliver high quality data pipelines for data warehousing, data analysis, and big data solutions factoring in data quality, performance management, security, and scalability. Lead and participate in architecture discussions, recommend design choices, and execute projects balancing strategic and tactical goals. Maintain comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, processes, and configurations. Collaborate and foster cross-functional relationships with data scientists, analysts, application developers, IT infrastructure, IT security, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and build reliable solutions.

Requirements: Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field of study. Requires 3 years of experience as a data engineer including experience in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and extract-transfer-load (ETL) processes, and implementing data models and schemas. Experience specified must include 2 years of experience with each of the following: relational database design, data modeling and data warehousing; modern data warehouses and optimizing ETL data pipelines; one or more visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.; implementing analytic platforms in at least one of the major cloud ecosystems, such as MS Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, etc.; and version control systems. Experience specified must also include 1 year of experience building data and analytics solutions. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week.
