Job Description

Pay Range: $84,500 - $92,500 

We are seeking a dynamic and results driven Production Supervisor to join our Building and Finishing Newark CA Team. This position will supervise and coordinate the activities of production personnel between all shifts. Position effectively provides leadership and direction to all production employees while meeting company goals for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Proven leadership qualities with strong interpersonal communication skills. Self-driven and able to generate strong results with minimal supervision, in a team-based environment
  • Lead, staff, train, develop, and motivate production personnel to achieve operational excellence.
  • Direct and coach production operators in troubleshooting equipment and executing daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Enforce all plant safety policies and procedures, taking immediate action to mitigate risks and address non-conformances.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Logistics, and Customer Service to meet production, quality, and delivery requirements.
  • Achieve assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), financial objectives, and departmental budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with all quality systems and standards, including ISO 9001:2008 and RCMS requirements.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report key operational metrics, including production output, scrap rates, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), run rates, and production priorities.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve production procedures, including SOPs, startup and shutdown checklists, product inspections, 5S practices, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Manage production-related documentation such as process order creation and confirmation, inventory control (block/unblock), purchase requisitions, and vendor invoices.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in an Engineering or Technical field a minimum.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field preferred. Incumbents must have a minimum of 3-5 years production supervisory experience in an automated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in labor relations strongly preferred; union experience is a plus.
  • Highly dependable, organized, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and engage appropriate resources to implement solutions.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams in a results-driven, team-based environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Basic knowledge of industrial troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and flexibility to manage a broad range of responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
