Broadridge is hiring! We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager with 5–10 years of experience in software engineering and technical leadership. This is a development management role, the ideal candidate will bring prior hands-on experience in SDET / test automation engineering and apply that background to lead development teams in building high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions.

The successful candidate will lead multiple related development efforts and provide both people leadership and technical direction. This role requires the ability to manage and mentor developers, collaborate across distributed teams, and remain engaged in technical design, particularly around test automation frameworks, data mapping, ETL-related validation, and engineering best practices. Experience with an MPP database technologies is a plus.

This individual will work effectively with consultants and full-time employees, across both onshore and offshore teams, and will be accountable for the delivery, performance, and continuous improvement of multiple related teams and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of software developers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Drive the design, development, and delivery of software solutions with a strong emphasis on quality, scalability, and maintainability.

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in the design and evolution of test automation frameworks and engineering quality practices within the development organization.

  • Leverage prior experience in data mapping ETL testing, and automation frameworks to guide teams in building reliable, testable, and robust applications.

  • Establish and promote SDET-inspired engineering best practices across the development team, including automation strategy, coding standards, testability, and continuous integration.

  • Partner with architects, product managers, and business stakeholders to define technical solutions, delivery plans, and development roadmaps.

  • Review technical designs, code quality, development processes, and release readiness to ensure successful execution.

  • Collaborate effectively with consultants, contractors, and full-time employees across onshore and offshore delivery models.

  • Support the team in solving complex technical challenges and making sound design decisions.

  • Drive improvements in engineering processes, including agile delivery, CI/CD, code reviews, and automation integration.

  • Participate in hiring, performance management, coaching, and career development of team members.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in software development or related engineering roles, with progressive responsibility in technical leadership or people management.

  • Prior hands-on experience in SDET, automation engineering, or test framework development, with the ability to apply that background in a software development leadership role.

  • Strong experience with test automation, particularly in data mapping validation and ETL-related testing.

  • Proven ability to lead a development team while remaining engaged in technical design and architecture discussions.

  • Experience designing or guiding automation frameworks and engineering practices that improve software reliability and maintainability.

  • Experience working with distributed teams, including onshore and offshore consultants and full-time employees.

  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and engineering best practices.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OLTP and MPP databases is a plus.

  • Familiarity with SQL, database validation, and data-intensive application development.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern engineering toolchains.

  • Knowledge of tax reporting processes is a plus.

  • Knowledge of AI / machine learning concepts, tools, or applications is a plus.

  • Prior experience in a hybrid role combining people management and hands-on technical leadership.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $200,000 - $215,000.
