Job Summary

The Senior Systems Test Engineer designs, develops, and implements cost‑effective test methods and troubleshooting for complex electro‑mechanical and embedded systems across all phases of product development. This role prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and develops and executes test protocols and procedures for new and existing products. The engineer works on problems of diverse scope, exercises sound judgment in selecting methods and techniques, and collaborates with senior internal and external experts. This is a seasoned, independent, journey‑level position with minimal day‑to‑day supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with test engineers, hardware/software developers, and architects to deeply understand products and their clinical use, and to design, develop, and test diagnostic systems.
  • Serve as technical expert and lead for assigned products or subsystems.
  • Own the design and development of test and validation methods, fixtures, and equipment; write and execute test plans, procedures, and protocols (verification and/or validation).
  • Define requirements and specifications for test equipment and related procedures.
  • Identify, diagnose, and prioritize technical issues arising from testing, manufacturing, and customers.
  • Define and evaluate test parameters and outputs for trending analysis; analyze defects, provide feedback, and drive process improvements.
  • Ensure safety, functional, and third‑party requirements are captured during system‑level test.
  • Participate in design reviews; create test plans and specifications; define user interface requirements for test equipment for new product introductions.
  • Communicate progress, schedules, budgets, risks, and resource gaps.
  • Act as a technical leader, seeking product improvements and insisting on high product quality.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Design Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Clinical Applications, and other partners.
  • Interface with Product Management and Domain Experts to identify product improvements and influence quality and testability of new features.
  • Apply and share best practices in software, hardware, and systems testing; influence processes to improve product quality.
  • Stay current with new test technologies and processes and implement them in verification and validation activities.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training for lower‑level Test Engineers.

The annualized base salary range for this role is $97,600 - $152,700 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
