Position Overview:
Thea Energy is seeking for an experienced, organized, and motivated systems engineer. This position will work on an interdisciplinary team to integrate numerous first-of-a-kind technologies while developing scalable processes and procedures. The Systems Engineer will manage requirements, integration, and interfaces for one of the most consequential and cutting-edge technologies of our generation - fusion energy.

This is a challenging position that requires a high degree of autonomy, and the ideal candidate must be able to move quickly. A proven track record of leading systems engineering, excellent communication skills, and a passion for new technologies and innovation is required.
\n- Develop system and interfacing requirements, protocols, and proceduresÂ
- Work closely with engineering and physics teams designing various systems to provide engineering coordination and supportÂ
- Ensure the efficient and systematic conversion of functional requirements into a scalable system architecture and execution strategyÂ
- Assist in the management of technical, schedule, cost, and performance analysis for various development programsÂ
- Develop and enact protocols to inform clear and efficient decision making processesÂ
- Manage updates and changes to systems and interfaces, and monitor impacts to program schedule, cost, and performanceÂ
- Manage system configuration controlÂ
- Manage the product breakdown structureÂ
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal manufacturing engineering teamsÂ
- Coordinate design reviews and program management functionsÂ
- Institute the processes for, and help run HAZOPS and FMECA programsÂ
- Implement an effective design integration programÂ
- Develop and manage effective processes for making and tracking key decisionsÂ
- Develop and implement verification and validation processesÂ
- Implement system design lifecycle management processesÂ
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field Â
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineeringÂ
- Proven experience integrating large industrial and /or first-of-a-kind R&D projects (e.g. power plants, manufacturing facilities, particle accelerators, etc.)Â
- Experience across mechanical, electrical, and fluid systemsÂ
- Experience with cryogenic, heating, fluid, vacuum, power electronics, and control systems is preferred but not mandatoryÂ
- Familiarity with the processes needed to build, test, troubleshoot, and scale complex mechanical and electrical systemsÂ
- Leadership of engineering, technical, and scientific teamsÂ
- Experience with 3D modeling tools (Siemens NX)Â
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skillsÂ
- Ability to innovate, execute, and flourish in a fast-paced environmentÂ
- Exceptional work ethicÂ
- Prioritization of safety above all elseÂ
- Ability to wear many different hatsÂ
- Team player who is excited to help othersÂ
- Ability to occasionally lift objects up to 50 lbs
- Salary range $85,000-$165,000
