We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer to support the deployment, maintenance, and performance of the firm’s software applications serving attorneys and business professionals.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative and solutions-oriented technology professional with strong application support experience, sound troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support business-critical systems in a fast-paced professional services environment.
This position can be based in Newark, NJ.
Key Responsibilities:Â
- Install, configure, deploy, monitor, and maintain on-premises and cloud-based software applications in collaboration with Application, Network, and Security teams.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve issues and escalate matters to IT leadership when required.
- Monitor and respond to tickets assigned through the ticketing system.
- Package, test, and deploy line-of-business and legal applications, including document management, time-and-billing, and productivity tools.
- Manage the application lifecycle, including patching and version upgrades.
- Provide third-level application support for escalated tickets requiring specialized expertise, security rights or vendor support.
- Assist with maintaining standard images deployed to firm computers.
- Maintain application documentation, including configuration standards, support procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Monitor application performance, availability, and reliability, and recommend improvements to support business needs.
- Support integrations between firm applications, Microsoft 365, document management systems, and other business platforms.
- Develop and maintain scripts or automation tools to streamline application deployment, configuration, maintenance, and reporting.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to IT support teams regarding application functionality, known issues, and support procedures.
- Support change management processes by documenting proposed changes, testing results, implementation steps, and rollback plans.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with software systems implementation, upgrades, maintenance, and support, including third-level application support in a professional services environment.
- Experience with software management, distribution and endpoint configuration using Microsoft Configuration Manager, Intune, Group Policy, and related configuration and compliance policies.
- Experience administering Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Exchange Online, Windows 11 Desktop, Windows Server, SQL Server, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and application deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Proficiency with legal and business applications, including NetDocuments or similar document management system, CRM, and productivity tools in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Experience documenting and maintaining standard configurations for laptops and desktops with Windows 11, reviewing new hardware releases and recommending/managing all upgrades.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical solutions to meet business needs.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, develop project plans, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements in a fast-paced business environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, take initiative, learn new technologies, and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and support.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as a member of the Applications Team and collaborate with IT colleagues, vendors, and internal users.
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to provide responsive, professional support to internal customers in a legal environment.

The pay range for this role accounts for the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. For applicants physically based in Newark, a reasonable estimate of the current annual range is $103,000 - $115,000. Â Actual pay will be determined based on skills, relevant experience and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable employment laws.
