Job DetailsJob Location: AFPSL - Heath, OH 43056Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $51.21 - $51.21 HourlyJob Shift: DayJOB SUMMARY: The Technical Writer is responsible for the development and documentation of procedures for calibration technical orders in the subject measurement area for the Air Force Primary Standards Laboratory (AFPSL) and the Air Force. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 3 years’ experience in TO development or equivalent experience. Good understanding of the TO development process. Good working knowledge of technical issues in assigned areas, preferably in the K1/K8 DC/Low Frequency Measurement Area (i.e., electronic and physical/mechanical principles and theories; troubleshooting techniques to the component level; metrology techniques and laboratory practices; etc.) Excellent written and communication skills required. Proficient with MS Office software. QualificationsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develops, writes and edits material for technical orders. Observes production and developmental activities to determine operating procedure and detail. Interviews production and engineering personnel and reads journals, reports, and other materials to become familiar with specific product technologies and production methods. Reviews manufacturer’s and trade catalogs, drawings and other data relative to operation, maintenance and service. Studies blueprints, flow charts, drawings, parts lists, specifications to integrate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail. Organizes material and completes writing assignment in accordance with set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform other related duties as assigned.
